Chassis number v vin number

Post by simshel69 » Thu May 04, 2017 10:57 am

Hi

Does the bongo have a separate chassis number stamped on engine or is it just the vin found on the plate on the passenger door? If so where on the engine is it located?
I'm trying to register my bongo in Denmark and it proving somewhat difficult to say the least ](*,)

Cheers

The engine number is stamped on the front near side top of the engine block.

Good Luck.

And an additional chassis number is stamped into the chassis this is under the bonnet on the scuttle panel beneath the rubber drivers side.

And the engine number on my year 2000 2.5TD is stamped on the front RHS of the block on a small "flat".

Watch your fingers if you've been running the engine. Been there, done that, left the skin. LOL!

The engine number varies and by all previous accounts some dismantling of the bits surrounding it is required to see it !
see here for locations depending on engine type;
