Yes it's up on axle stands - rear axle with chocks under front wheels. I'm still thinking about what to do next. Maybe I'll try to jar it with a wooden block and a hammer, but not a lot of hammer-swinging room even on axle stands.Bob wrote:I'd get some proper axle stands before you consider going underneath Bongy.![]()

When i noticed the gear changes seemingly getting notchy i decided ghe way to go was to change the transmission fluid. My friendly garage sugested that i bought sixty litres of transmission fluid so the torque converter could be emptied of the gunge. He wanted a new fliter as well. I got the fluid i was present when the task was undertaken.
I was almost in tears when i say the new cherry red expensive fluid co.ing out of the open transmission while it was being pumped out of the new containers. All was well however when i drove away from the garage all was smooth.
I mention this as it just might be that all that is needed is a change of t/f to get things working again.
