Re: The Rust Directory
Another recommendation for Keith Williams at Williams Garage, Lodge, nr Wrexham. He replaced the very badly deteriorated rear wheel arches with nicely finished and shaped plating as well as some sill repair work together with a well blended lower re-paint and other touching up. £850 all in. A good price for the job and a new lease of life for our Bongo.
That was supposed to be 'on tour' not 'on tout'
Re: The Rust Directory
Nice one, thanks.
Re: The Rust Directory
Any recommendations for rear arch replacement in the Glasgow area, the guy that was going to do mines has let me down.
Would be willing to travel a bit.

Gonna be using Dunwells in Leith later this year - but that might be a little too late for you.nth wrote:Any recommendations for rear arch replacement in the Glasgow area, the guy that was going to do mines has let me down.

I can recommend them as a general bodyshop, though.

Hi, iv recently bought my bongo that I won via ebay. It had a clean sheet mot that I did via the gov mot history check.
Anyway after going to a bongo specialist for some routine work. They and I were shocked to see the level of corrosion underneath.
The pics (if they work) are behind the rear arches. Does anyone know what these are called and/or if these can be bought as replacement parts like a cross member can be.
Thanks
Jay

Re: The Rust Directory
Any of the parts for those repairs will need to be fabricated, you should ask your Specialist for a quote. I keep telling people to get an experience person to inspect these old vehicles Before they consider buying. When was the MOTT carried out?.

They are more mechinal specialist and in Swansea very far from me in Bristol.
Iv called the garage this morning expressing mins and the Swansea garages concerns. He's agreed to look at it and see what he can do.
I know a welder fabricator who's abit gobsmacked aswell. He doesn't think he save what's there tbh. Why I wondering if they were purchasable.
