Hi all. New member and new bongo (to me ). Currently out touring the west coast of Scotland trying it out and drawing up a list of to dos. Currently blower, rear brake pads and look at the rear suspension re increasing the clearance.
Cheers

Re: Hello all
Hi and welcome. A lot of us fit air bags in the rear suspension to assist the springs take the load and stop it bottoming out. See here https://air-lift.co.uk/load-support/air ... &results=1

Re: Hello all
Welcome Andy.
Geoff/Bob - I know air assistors stiffen suspension but do they improve ground clearance.
I've always liked the idea of oversize tyres on the Bongo. Increases ground clearance and look good on the Bongo. Not seen it done much in UK but know the Russians liked to do it on their Bongos (no doubt stiffer suspension desirable then!)
Edit: no sooner do I write this than the next BF post I read is this:

Re: Hello all
No they have no effect on ground clearance, but lets face it you don't choose a Bongo for ground clearance the engine is the lowest point not the rear!

Re: Hello all
Thanks Geoff. Thought as much though I suppose it could be argued airbags at least prevent a reduction in ground clearance by reducing suspension travel over uneven ground. Oversize tyres on the other hand......and I see the OP on the other thread seems very pleased with theirs.g8dhe wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2019 11:35 am No they have no effect on ground clearance, but lets face it you don't choose a Bongo for ground clearance the engine is the lowest point not the rear!
