Oil filter code

Post by Lewy » Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:33 pm

Some time ago I was getting oil from my local motor factors and asked if they could get me an oil filter too. Out came the grey imports book and they looked up the code and ordered one. When I compared it to the one on the van though it seemed a tad smaller in circumferance. And the code doesn't match with the parts data sheet.

I didn't use it and ordered another one. I need to to do another oil change and was wondering to try it as it is just sat there in the garage.

The part number for this on is - J1313014 - Nipparts

The parts numbers on the data sheet are:
Oil Filter Blueprint ADC42110
Oil Filter Motaquip VFL 304
Oil Filter J1315005
Oil Filter (V6) Blueprint ADM52107
Oil Filter (V6) J1313016

Any thoughts - or has anyone used a filter with this part number?

Hmmmm thinking the guy at the shop has got it wrong - they may well be able to exchange it - the numbers just dont match up and it is smaller which might well be a problem dealing with the volume of oil? For a tenner - don't seem worth it.

Thanks for the speedy replies by the way - much appreciated.
