Green Fluid Leak - Please help

Hi,

I've been unable to use my bongo in a while so took it out for a drive. When I got back I noticed that there was luminous green fluid dripping on the driveway.

It's on the driver's side of the vehicle about mid-way between the wheels (slightly closer to the rear wheel).

I managed to get some pictures but I'm trying to understand if this is a coolant leak or an air con leak as I understand they can both be green?!

The Green liquid is the refrigerant used in the air con. cooling system, you basically have a leak in the air con. cooling pipes/matrix.
You need to get the leak sorted and then refilled at a garage that handles air con. systems.
There are three possibilities depending on age and what is still working!
All use R134a refrigerant and PAG46 oil.
A full system prior to around 2000 (when smaller diameter pipes were used);
950 Grams & 14ml of oil.
If the rear air con system has been sealed then 700 Grams of refrigerant & 14ml of oil.
after 2000 then 750grammes & 50ml of oil.

Still haven't had it repaired, looks like it's actually a coolant leak from the rear heater matrix. I've ordered a new heater matrix. I think the confusion over the colour of the fluid has arisen from the fact that the previous owner had put a UV tracer dye in the coolant and that it doesn't use the red(?) colour coolant.

Hope that helps, but as both the aircon system and heater system seems to go into that area you might have a different type of leak, e.g. refrigerant as g8dhe wrote.

have looked high and low how to remove the rear matrix as mine is undercoated its 1 95 2.5 d 4x4. not sure how to pull out is there any notes anywhere how to remove

Sorry, no idea, hopefully one of the other forum members can help!

The air con system in the rear comes out from the inside, you have to disconnect all the pipe work - two coolant pipes and two refrigerant pipes - then remove the entire system from the inside. on the rear air con lines I see a leak at the 90 degree bend there is a plastic clip that holds 3 lines I undid the nut bolt. but how does the clip come apart so I can remove one of the lines to repair the pinhole the clips I'm just unsure

The pipe clips have a catch at one end that you need to release to allow it to pivot up and free the pipes;
