Anybody seen this

Post by Hazzobongo » Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:43 am

So I'm watching youtube bongo videos and this one popped up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCKKb_33UK8

Now I've never been convinced about waving funnels around full of boiling water and cant see anyone at a mazda plant doing it that way either, this looks to be more like I expected. Thoughts? H

There is a difference between a brand new engine with totally clean water ways in the engine and clean hoses, to one that is 20+ years old with lots of chalk deposits in the pipework and around the engine. I've never had a problem with my V6 and I suspect that it is only a few that have a major problem which need the extra care and effort that is described in the more contorted YouTube processes!

Oh I know theres differences between brand new and 30 year old engines but as long as they've been refilled with proper coolant and de-ionised water those channels, pipes and tubes should have no 'chalky deposits', thats the point of using proper coolant rather than tapwater and wouldn't affect the bleed process. On the bottom steel hose that is under the driverside foot plate, just In front of the pedals is a nipple with a rubber cover on it. This is how they may have filled from bellow in the factory as it's the lowest point. It's on the drawings but not described....
