Alternatives to PMS for charging leisure battery.
My PMS3 Managment System is faulty and does not charge the leisure battery (confirmed by mechanic). Replacement would be expensive. Otherwise PMS works OK. Presumably I could permanently connect the 240V supply to a small ('smart'?) trickle charger so the LB is charged whenever the van is hooked up? Advice appreciated - any specific chargers recommended (CTEK has been mentioned...)? An obvious alternative would be a solar panel which I may well fit later anyway. Thanks.

Might be worth looking locally for an electrical repair shop - they do still exist! - most of the chargers can be repaired by a person with knowledge without too much difficulty, but I do admit the number of such shops has reduced dramatically in the throwaway society we have become!

Agreed… I’m in the process of tracking such a thing down. However… with labour charges what they are, I think the cost of repair v new charger will be pretty similar. There’s always the chance that the fault is less serious than thought…
