Re: Flashing hold light
I do Mike. It doesn't get used a lot & suffers as a result sadly as it lives outside. I tax it for the summer (I always use in to go to Cardiff boating in August) & it may be doing Scotland again this year (always towing) but, unless it snows, I SORN it for the winter. The biggest frustration is the central locking has packed up & I haven't the time (or inclination) to fix it!

Excellent. C/L Might just be the relay behind the passenger glove compartment. That was the problem with mine. Ordered 2nd hand replacement online from bongospares which arrived next day and took 5 mins to fit. Worth a shot?Alacrity wrote:I do Mike. The other common problem with central locking is the loom where it passes from the A pillar into the driver's door.

Re: Flashing hold light
Hi. I have had the flashing hold light since last October. It comes and goes. When it does come on it is usually after engine warmed up. Drives fine but problem with hold button once light flashes.Alacrity wrote:I will take a look. Thanks.
Came on today and has stayed flashing even after engine cooled down. Noticed on steep hill that needed brake to stop Bongo rolling backwards from a stop position.
My problem is I have paid for a return ferry to Santander for 12 days time for a trip in Portugal. What would happen if I carry on driving it? I'm based in Hove. Wondering whether I need the solenoid pack. Not sure what to do in fact.

Re: Flashing hold light
We have top auto gearbox specialist and Bongo owner in Eastbourne. Goes by tbe name of Alacrity on here, Geoff in real life. Can't think of a better person to recommend if you can make it over there. If you search for his name you could PM him and/or I think he may put his business name in his BF signature. Good luck, keep us posted.Glenda wrote:Hi. Thanks Rita and Mike. I answered last night but a couple of foxes playing in the street took my attention and I never hit the submit button!
Will ring Geoff this morning and hope he'll have a look. Lovely 25 mile drive along the white chalk cliffs from here to Eastbourne. Thanks again.

Fingers crossed and thanks to Rita for finding their details. Let us know how it goes.Glenda wrote:Thanks Rita and Mike. I answered last night but a couple of foxes playing in the street took my attention and I never hit the submit button!

Re: Flashing hold light
I certainly will let you know how it goes. This morning I remembered that a number of warning lights came on with the alternator going. That was fixed last week. So I disconnected the battery to stop the hold light flashing. Then went for a drive and kept under 2000 rpm. Drove 30 miles, so got up to temperature, and light did not come on. Tomorrow also going on a trip and will stay at low revs. On the way home I will push the revs and see if flashing hold comes on. If it doesn't it looks good and if it does I can tell Mr Alacrity it comes on with flooring the pedal.

Re: Flashing hold light
Hey i ha e a similier issue here with mine. I uave a 2.5td 96 bongo a few months ago the hold light started flashing whislt ignition lights were on and no engine running, todsy it done rhe same thing, but i reset the ignition by simply removing the key and sitting it with ignition lights on again and the flashing hold light has gone again. My transmission oil was abit low last time and i am parked on a hill with steering wheel facing the top of the hill. Im wondering weather i need to continue topping up with more teansmission oil......
Also do you have a link for this yourube video on the solenoids.
Thanks.

I'm also on a hill and my drive is a steep slope so I top up the oil on the drive then drive it to the bottom of the hill and top it up to the correct level there. I do this every oil change and will do it with the ATF, as long as the motor has oil in it showing on the dipstick theres enough to get you onto flat ground.

Re: Flashing hold light
Hey Guys! Hope I'm not too late to the Party, but I have a strange "FLASHING HOLD ISSUE" mine doesn't flash like everyone else's does, mine has done this Twice so far over like 4 months maybe more but here's what happens......
....... If I turn ignition on to the point where the dash lights all come on, airbag abs roof glow plugs etc and then leave it as it is for a while, my "HOLD" Light will flash then, but reset the ignition as normal and drive away and no light, everything appears to be normal....... I did check the fluid and seemed ABIT low so I bout 2 x 2 liter bottles and so far have only put the 1 bottle in, it's not frothy or contains any bubbles and looks ( and tastes ) fine!
So would anyone know why it's doing this rather bazzar thing?
Thank you!

Re: Flashing hold light
Do you have a leisure battery ? It maybe flat ? If the backup supply to the ECU fails then at switch on the ECU signals loose of backup supply until its reset (second start).
