Anybody want this for spares?

Post by Doodah71 » Sun Jul 13, 2025 10:33 pm

Mum & I were idiots and bought this Bongo without seeing it. Long story short, it was dropped off, needed jump starting "Because it's been sat idle for so long, Madam".
We got a mechanic to look at it and apparently it's rusted to buggery underneath. To be honest, the rest looked okay. There was a rusty hole, maybe 10cm, on offside wing but I couldn't see much else. Mechanic said wires were hanging out everywhere?
Anyhow, it's been sat since the end of April and now has 4 flat tyres too.
I've put the original sale pictures on this link BUT IGNORE THE WRITE UP.....IT IS A NON-RUNNER AND NEEDS TOWED.
Any offers welcome x

Let me know if link doesn't work, not used it before.

That is really sad to read.
Having seen your original post I’d hoped you’d found a reliable garage to get your Bongo back on the road.
First thing I’d say is, get the tyres pumped up asap.
Aside the fact sitting on them will cause damage, if you (or anyone) needs to move it they need sorting.
Have you been in touch with the nearest Bongo garage listed in your original post.?
They may, if you can get it transported there, be able to give you a far better indication of whether it’s possible to save it. (They’ll likely know of a reliable transportation company if unable to assist themselves).
Alternatively, there must me some camper specialist near you, you’re on the Sth Coast if I recall, (Eastbourne.?) who are genuine and able to give it a good check over.
The cost of transportation and a thorough check by a Bongo Specialist may still be better that the selling for spares option, but you need to ensure you use a reputable transportation service and garage.

Are there any local Bongo owners on this forum able to pop by and offer their experience/expertise.?

The scammers who sold you the vehicle need exposing too, they should not be allowed to simply walk away with your cash.
There are some truly nasty, horrible people about, but there are genuine folk too.
I hope someone reading this can offer assistance.
Good luck.

Just to add..

If you have access to FaceBook (I don’t) I believe there is an active Bongo Group on there, they may be able to offer local advice, or indeed be interested in your Bongo ‘as-is’.

Good luck.
