AFT Sunroof leaking

Post by NJT » Thu Sep 04, 2025 9:15 am

The recent heavy rain has caused my sunroof to leak on one side. I've seen instructions for cutting it out with wire and resealing but I'm not going to be able to do they for a while due to time constraints and weather!

Is there a quick fix? If I dry it out, can I pump the external gap full of sealant (or even expanding foam), or should I just cover in duck tape until I can do it properly?

It's a weird/stupid design considering it literally traps water so this is inevitable!

Thanks in advance.

Can't see why not, it will work short term, the problem will be getting round to fixing the real problem, before it starts to leak again.
I would suspect the biggest problem will be getting it really clean to allow the new sealant to get a real grip all the way around.
