Door lock

Post by trikeboiler » Thu Oct 23, 2025 12:10 pm

Hi all, I have a problem with the central locking useing the key fob, when it's pressed to unlock or lock there is a buzzing type sound from the drivers door and the drivers door won't lock or unlock only with the key, the other doors work fine with the fob, hopefully there is a quick fix, another thing is that I'm useless with electrical problems. My bongo is a 2003 2litre petrol. Thanks.

Generally the problem for this case is the solenoid/motor is jamming for some reason. You will need to remove the door card and then likely release mechanism from inside the door edge too see what is happening, pictures below show replacing the entire door wiring loom but there are three that relate to the position of the locking mechanism on the door edge;

I had the same fault. It turned out to be a small gear shaft in the bottom of the motor mechanism, I needed to remove the whole unit to change it.
