Thanks BigDaddy. Just to confirm, the shroud IS the bit that fairs in/streamlines the bas of the mirror mount? I'll prepare to boldly etc.

Had a look at the wing mirror shroud today and cant for the lie of me see how you start to lever it off. If BigDaddy or mp3plecarrier can offer any more detailed advice I'd be really grateful. Dont want to break it and it gives no clue as to how if comes off when you look at it. It fits so neatly against the base of the mirror itself I cant even be sure where the join is
