OK got it sorted i hope, i raised the roof about a foot so i can get to the contacts, gave them a good clean, and must admit a lot of grease came off one of them, lowered the roof ,waited and tried again, PERFECT. so it must have been me being overeager with the silicon grease. #-o
And the moral of the story is keep away from the contacts with your spray grease. [-X

Nice easy fix 8) =D>
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Fixed mine too, using a cut down version of Bongo Boozers solution:

1. Open roof half a meter.
2. Locate the microswitches- you can see them on the underside of the roof panel if you stand on drivers/passangers seat.
3. Loosen the 2 screws in the yellowy-white component of the switch. Push this part towards the black switch. Re-tighten screws.

Done! :D

Thanks all, another job sorted.

I see...Like the springy contact at the base of a bulb? Prise it upwards..Better contact?

Yeah, same principle.

Seemed to me that the yellowy-white parts was slotted, so probably was always expected to need 'fine-tuning' at some point. (Black part isn't slotted, and offers very little adjustment, not worth trying to move that unless the adjustment in the other bit isn't sufficient to solve the problem).

Glad it's sorted, the flashing red light on the dashboard was actually really annoying (guess that's the intention!)

My roof light started to flash again and the beeps when i started the engine  , so i tried to do what scuba did, when i went to undo the screws they were already loose #-o , looks like that was all the problem from the beginning, i tightened them up on both sides , and that seems to have solved the problem. =D> =D> =D>
