Up for child lock on and Down for off, with the '1'
Handle would work from the outside though.

Thanks for all help. I tried to follow the links and take the door card off etc. but I couldn't work out how to get the door handle off easily
I cut the pipe off where it was stuck and I could see the adaptor bits stuck, with a bit of hacksaw cutting and pushing, the offending bits all came out:

Once all removed, the door would shut and the "soft close" would power up and pull it in, but opening was not happening..well not easily. The window trim was mangled - it's quite a tough bit of plastic. I now need to pull the door at the back end to get it over this piece.

I need to replace this bit, is it available or do i need a breaker donor vehicle? I'm assuming it's simply held on with Silkaflex/Tiger Seal or equivalent?
Cheers
Dan
