Bongo Fury

Same size tyres all round on a 4WD should mean the diff has not been wound up.

Hi looking for a 4x4 specialist in the Merseyside or surrounding area, to try to solve this problem, anyone know of any?

Regret buying a Freda now, at least with a VW I could take it to a garage local that would actually know about the vehicle,

That's where its be going they have no idea what it is and want to change the diff to see if!! that fixes it,

Logic would suggest they're right. What about getting a diff or axle from George at Bongospares in Ripponden and have your local garage fit it?

I think I would be taking the vehicle to someone that does know how to test for faults, otherwise you will end up Jacking Up The Mirrors and Replacing the Van.

If they want to replace the axle/diff and do it FOC if that does not cure the problem then Fair enough.

I just cant believe that this is the only bongo that has ever suffered this, yet no one seems to have an idea what it is, I don`t want to go down the keep replacing parts till it goes away that's a none starter, would you not think the garage would be able to tell if the diff is shot! there is no noise coming from it!! at any time, if I was a mechanic who couldn't solve this I would give up and go stack shelves

Try changing LSD oil with Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140, total cure for mine with same problem (judder under acceleration on corners only when hot after long drive ) Had unsuccessfully tried other synthetic diff oils.

could it be the LSD not working right? is it a clutch type LSD? vans 2 wheel drive now anyway so getting rid of the LSD is not really a concern! would that cause the power loss after 20-30 miles when the juddering kicks in? not impressed with Wheelquick I could get a local garage to replace parts till it goes away where`s the "BONGO" knowledge come into that!

After reading up on diff`s LSD and non LSD I would suspect the rear diff especially if the LSD is a clutch type, I will drain and change the rear diff oil, and see if that "fixes it" for even a short while as that would tell me it is the diff, if so I am going to ask the local garage if I buy another diff or complete rear axle would they fit it? if not what are my options, in the Merseyside area! anyone know a garage that would carry out this work?

B373 is not recommended for use in road vehicles.

Why do you not use the Manufacturers Recommended Oil.

As the 'normal' diff uses a different oil .. Have you checked if you do have an LSD .. or asuming that you have ..??

Yes I would say that oil should be ok (multi purpose) IE LSD or Normal Diff.
