Adjustable throttle stop?
beneath my accelerator is a black rubber bung, under the bung is an adjustable nut and bolt which appears to act as an accelerator pedal stop, i.e. keeps the foot from hammering the revs, perhaps. Anyone know about this little jobbie?

This is an old chestnut, discussed several times on the forum.
Mazda needed to fit some sort of buffer to prevent the accelerator pedal hitting the floor and damaging the carpet.
They cast around in their odds'n'sods box for something suitable.
From some indeterminate other vehicle they found that black thing, so they used them!
It is not an adjuster, it simply prevents the accelerator from travelling too far.
