Just got a phone call from the garage telling me i need a new left inlet cam pulley (anybody know where i can get one?) two teeth missing and cracked, surly the reputable Bongo dealer i bought it off would have noticed this when he did the pre-sale cam belt change and 50 point check or when it went back for new tappets under warranty three months later???? so now i also need to try and find rocker cover gaskets, inlet manifold gasket, water pump gasket (very small leak) and rocker cover washer/seals, all in all looks like its going to be an expensive £13 seal

Parts needed V6
Took the Freda to the garage today to have a £13 crank seal fitted which had a small leak. So while its stripped down Ive sourced some cam seals as well (£50). Because i didn't know how much oil had got onto the belts i decided to change these as well even though the timing belt is only twelve months old (£120).

Any mechanic/engineer/prime minister with one eye would see that - makes me think the "mechanic" broke the pulley "levering" on the belt

Probably, but it seems to have been 9 months ago, so proving it is another matterdandywarhol wrote:Any mechanic/engineer/prime minister with one eye would see that - makes me think the "mechanic" broke the pulley "levering" on the belt

Re: Parts needed V6
Good news is found the parts i need
bad news the prices
RC gaskets £76
i think i will go with silicone, cam pulley £96.69 no choice but to go with that, other gaskets a not to reasonable £28 then oil coolant and labour and no time limit given on delivery so could be a couple of weeks without the van. Its a good job I was laid off last week and haven't a job i need to get to
