I have just changed my "space-saver" spare wheel for a full size steel.I noticed that the spare is held up by a strong wire. Will this be strong enough to hold up the new spare as it is a bit heavier than the space-saver.

Yes, had my 15" steel wheel on there for ages without any problrms.

replaced mine as I got some alloys.....all well with me.....Spacesavers are used by lots of manufacturers.....cost cutting.....now my C3 Citroen has alloys....5 of them, where as some companies fit 4 alloys and a steel ot spacesaver spare....
