We're thinking of camping here for a couple of nights in July

Anyone been here, what's the beer? Hows the food?

Thanks guys.

Don't think I know it but its a lovely part of the world. That whole hidden stretch along the Welsh Marches (far from the madding crowd) appeals to me greatly (as in retirement, though I doubt I'll either manage or afford it) . If I'm free I might sneak across for Saturday night. The view from the top of Beeston Castle on a clear day is special 8)

We're booked 6/7/8 July. That's the Mon/Tues/Weds eves.

We'll be doing the tourist bit daytimes, but almost certainly on site or in the pub those evenings if anyone fancies a pint. :D

That looks like a smashing site Bob, with a real ale pub too.

Please let us know what it was like when you get back.

Oh, and have a lovely time :)

Mods, can we now move to 'Fancy Meeting Up' to save duplication?

We're there 7/8/9 July (mid week), and would be pleased to see any of the gang. :D

We would have joined you had it been the weekend - only days holiday are a bit tight. It would have been good to meet up again - it's a long time since Fort William.

Have a pint or two - or three - or four for us :D

Great time here, good camping field, £12, plus £3 if you want hook-up, and they have a rally field. :D This is £5 per unit/night if more than 10 vehicles attend.

Very pleasent couple running it, and the food is great, midweek specials at £6 for a two course lunch, £10 for 2 courses in the evening, and plenty of it.

Bus stop for Chester 100yds from the entrance, £3.25 return. Much easier than parking in town, and you can have a drink. Last bus back is 17.30, so ideal for a day in town and back for supper. :D

Access to the showers is limited to out of opening hours, I guess it overloads the water or elcectric systems, but they close 15.00 to 18.00, or shower in the morning, easily worked round this.

One we will re-visit.
