Lights on warning bleeper

Post by Dan T » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:02 am

Hi, newbie to the forum... I know this has been asked elsewhere, but everyone else seems to have had their problem answered with the simple video. Sadly, my problem is ongoing :(

Reversing beep - check
Key in/ door open beep - Nope
Lights on beep - nope

Connector in place as seen in video, wires all appear to be in tact...

Any other ideas????????

Are you saying you want them on or off? have you checked the connector in the steering column?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Hi Kirsty,

I want them on 'cos I keep leaving my lights on!! Will check steering column connector during daylight hours...

Thank you,

Dan

I found i only had a reverse beep when the lights were on, when i disconnected the block under the cowl. :!:

I cut the wire that triggers when the door opens & put a latching switch in line to the side of the fuse box to disable it (for say silent camping.) I also rigged an led in the recess for the ignition key on the cowl to quietly let me know my lights on & to illuminate the key hole in the dark.

Yes, the cab lights still come on when you open the door...
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Thank you both for your replies...

Have just got it working again :-) All connectors and wires were in place, but the wire for the lights and key in ignition had broken.

Only a temporary fix at present with insulating tape, but will do a proper fix when the nice weather retruns.
