electrical problem

i have had a cat 1 alarm and rear camera fitted this week

anyhow now the n/s rear speaker doesnt work
changed the speakers for new ones and the n/s still no work have checked the speaker thats ok but no power to the speaker wires on the n/s

before i run new wires from o/s to n/s any ideas would be welcomed [-o<
I NOW HAVE AN ASTRA JUST THE BONGO TO FIND A NEW HOME THEN I AM OUT OF HERE

Strange my rear nearside speaker is not working either, the speaker is ok but like you I am gonna have to search.lol.

I wonder if the problem is something simple? Did the fitter disturb the dash... he might have knocked the wire on the back of the stereo?

already checked the stereo thats ok

I'd run another wire from the stereo to the speaker without running it through the trim, if it works then the wire in the trim is at fault.

Could the fault be the stereo settings for the speaker control, knocked?

Sounds like the insulation on that speaker cable has been snagged by trim refitting somewhere along the line.. most probably earthed out to the body now. Try disconnecting the ISO block connector and systematically testing power output on each speaker channel with a test speaker there. Bet ya all 4 are working spot on that end. You'll compromise the sound if you use the other rear speaker to tap into though...dedicated channels should have dedicated signal sources!

checked all the wireing so will try the running new wire as speaker is now out so easy try

Both my rear speakers didn't work. mind you there was none in there anyway. #-o
had to rewire it and fitted some speakers bigdaddy gave me. :D

all sorted now it was the white block on the iso connector

so if you have changed your head unit then please check you dont bend a prong

dunno then :roll: was gonna say the leccies do funny things when you connect triggers without diodes but a pro would have used them i'd have thought :wink:
