Side door won't open

Hi guys, hope someone can help
My battery died as I left the interior light on DOH !

Boosted the battery but the side door won't open

Step by step...

Went out to the Bongo, opened side door and let dog in vehicle (vehicle was unlocked at the time as I'd left it that way)
Tried to start but it was dead, went back to side door to let dog out but the door wouldn't open
Door was unlocked, but just in case I locked then unlocked manually but it still won't open

Got a booster battery from the garage, started Bongo, no trouble but door still won't open

Tried ingintion on/off several times, tried locking and unlocking side door several time, tried central locking all and unlocking several times but the side door is still jammed shut

Am I missing something (maybe a brain cell or two) ?
