coolant type and quantity

Post by hogggman » Thu Jun 24, 2010 5:28 pm

hi all,
please forgive me for not searching for threads on this, but i`m in rather a rush, got a lot on,and hope that some kind person can point me in the right direction for when i return to the pc later.....
right,i have to change my radiator, and wondered what type of coolant i need, and how much of it.i`m going to give the cooling system a good flush out and refill with the correct ratio of coolant/water(it`s never really been correct since i got the bongo 2 years ago)
thanks in advance

Jamie...... any coolant will do as long as it is not mixed..... many on here (myself included) use Car Plan Premium Red or similar of the G12+ type....... the Cooling System is 13 litres and I used 6 litres of the coolant mixed with water to approx 50/50....
Don't forget to top up your transmission too.....

as mike says above,if you buy 2x 5litres you will have plenty at 50/50 and enough for future top ups should you need it later, usually you forget what brand/spec you have put in .
