Sliding door problem
Anyone any ideas on this odd sliding door problem: sometimes the door auto-closes, sometimes it doesn't. More annoying is the fact that when it is completely closed, and driving along, we can hear the door mechanism trying to close itself again and again
: even with the engine off. The central locking works fine, btw

Re: Sliding door problem
Clean up the brass contacts on the door & frame with a bit of emery & lube them with a bit of wd40, only 3 are supposed to move, so don't go trying to get the other two to slide in & out - they don't
also a good idea to clean & lube all the running gear so it's got less friction to work against (ptfe or silicon lube so it doesn't attract tto much dirt), make sure it's not being obstructed or any of the mountings are loose.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Ah! I've just purchased my 1998 Bongo and (having borrowed / driven one before) just assumed that the auto-close was an optional feature that mine didn't have. Now I recall hearing a strange 'clunk' a couple of times while driving and have realised that the closing mechanism must be on the blink! Time to read the fact sheet on it and get it working!
