me roof wont go up!!!! any ideas??

hi there,wonder if anyone can help. my bongo hadnt been used for 8 weeks due to me breakin me shoulder.. came to it and battery was flat(prob due to me starting it once a week and only moving 2 foot to get bins out).
batteries all charged up and ive been using it with out any problems ..BUT,since battery problem the roof wont go up. its been fine and the last time i raisedit was about 2 weeks before my accident without a problem.
the whilst operating the button the warning buzzer sounds and the warning light flashes but not a hint of movement,even giving a 'helping hand'??
is it common for the motors to just pack up??what kind of a job is it to get to the motor?? is there somthing im not doin??(handbrake is on ect and im tryng with the engine running)

any advise would be greatly appreiciated...cheers.

I had an experience just like this (although you culd just hear solenoids trying to do something momentarily when you used the OPEN button). Turned out the n/s motor had packed up and also pulled its mounting away from the roof. Had to take it to Adrian in Bury who sorted it for me. It gave no warning or obvious cause for going. Just old age I guess

oh dear... what sort of price were that if ya dont mind me askin? although cant hear the solenoids clicking?
does the roof have to come off?

dumb question but you did press the lock cancel button up in the roof before pushing the button didnt you

You don't have to push the lock cancel button to raise mine, only to lower it

might sound daft but have you checked the fuse?? if there is one

have you checked if the rubber seal around the roof has not stuck to your roof with all this hot weather we have had

checked the fuses under o/s kick panel,there ok,dont know if there anymore??

Good point - sorry , should have thought of that instead of scaring you just yet! You are well placed to go to Adrian in Bury, whose charge is v. reasonable.
