Central Locking

Post by lorraine9 » Wed Jun 30, 2010 8:21 pm

Its been 4 days now since picking up the Bongo and confusion continues ( good job this forum is here ! )
Our doors seem to need locking individually. We checked the number 4 fuse after reading that it might be the problem.... err .. nope, wasn't that.

If the Bongo was not fitted with central locking ( 1996 ) would we be able to put an alarm or immobiliser on it to accomodate the locking ... or am i talking jibberish
Thanks
Lorraine

Are you locking it from the drivers door? that's the only one it'll work from, I think there's a relay under the dash for the central locking, there's also a fact sheet on fitting remote central locking which entails fitting an actuator in the drivers door, which you'd have to do for an alarm to control the central locking function.
This may help - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... ay#p386096
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
