over heating after cambelt change

Post by Stinch » Thu Jul 01, 2010 6:51 am

A friend has just got an amazing Bongo, clean with all the gizzmos.
It was running fine till yesterday when it was picked up after a Cam belt change, then the usual over heating story started.
The garage have admitted it was something they have done and is going back today.
Is this a common problem after a cam belt change and does it require bleeding?

I know these overheating posts a ten a penny but any help would be appriciated

You should not have to touch the cooling system to change a cambelt....if it's running nice and smooth then I would say the overheating is unrelated......are we talking diesel or petrol.
Seems a odd one this....did they do anything else ??

Perhaps it already had the fault when he got it.
