Help needed please thermostat

Post by gasace » Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:52 am

Hi everyone, following my overheating problems I have bought a Mazda thermostat, I have drained the coolant, could not find the drain plus so removed the bottom hose, so far so good. But I am not sure were the thermostat housing is, is it the horizontal bit that connects to the top hose? I can't find any post about it so I thought it would be easy. Help Please!

Easiest way i describe for people to find the thermostat/housing is to follow the engine oil dipstick tube, til they find a 10mm bolt, this is screwed into the top of the thermostat housing, 2 x12mm underneath to gain access to the stat itself.
