Hi i hope someone can help me i am about to purchase my first Bongo from a private owner.
Although the van is registered with a log book in the UK. The only issue i have is that he does not have any paperwork from japan side including the de registration certificate that was issued when it was imported from Japan. He brought it from a dealer 2 years ago who imported it, when i rang the dealer he outright refused to provide me with a copy of the certificate stating it wasn't now required and would be hassle for him to dig out.
My point is should i be concerned about not having the certificate in case something crops up in the future to bite me on the bum or not worry about it as the van is already registered in the UK with a full log book.
Any advice is very much appreciated

We never received one either, didn't know at the time that they are available.
Given that it has been in the country for a while now, its more important I would suggest to know how it has behaved since, after all it doesn't affect the UK registration at all. As it's a private buy the previous dealer or any warranty is out of the picture as well.

I'd say the service history for the 2 years in the uk is just as/more important.
