Leaking windscreen fluid reservoir

Post by Stew71 » Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:15 pm

Hello all

I usually stay away from this part of the forum, 'cause it's a bit scary, but I was a bit unnerved last night to see a fresh wet patch under the front passenger side wheelarch. On investigation, it looks like washer fluid is leaking from directly below the reservoir (you can see it dripping slowly from some sort of grommet-type thing that protrudes into the wheelarch) - lost about 5cm in 24 hours.

Obviously I need to find out where the leak is and sort it (is there some sort of washer at the base of the reservoir? Is the tank easy to get out?), but I'm also wondering how much of a corrosion risk this is, and whether there's anything I should do about that.

Any thoughts/tips welcome!

Thanks

Stew

It could be where the washer motor is attached to the washer bottle, you should see a rubber grommet where it fit's [-o< :)

That's really helpful both of you, thanks. The diagram is brilliant. I'll take it out and look for that leak...

Did you ever resolve this? I sem to have the same problem (water dripping from the plastic bit that protrudes through the wheel arch).
