Fuse blew after repair to fan heater
Fan was not working so removed, dismantled and discovered a lot of water (seems a common problem) so dried out etc and it was working again. On next outing yellow flashing light came on and stopped immediately (then waited 4 hours for RAC!!!) It was the fuse on what I think is the leisure battery - the one on the right. Back on the road again but just worried that may have done something when reassembling fan that has caused this. Any advice welcome - have ordered new fuses now but going on hols next week and a bit concerned.

Re: Fuse blew after repair to fan heater
Ac fan shouldn't have anything to do with leisure battery
I'd say it was unrelated.
What light was flashing?
I'd suspect you'd maybe run your LB too low & it blew the fuse when it tried to draw too much current, may be worth checking there isn't a current drain on the battery, something left on, or the stereo memory draining it. Get it checked & charged up from the mains if necessary with a battery charger.
Did you clean it all out & get any crud out & refurb the motor, if it's got wet it'll need more than just drying out. I've done 5 now & they usually need springs replacing & the brushes freeing up as well as the the bronze bearing bushes freeing cleaning up & a bit of lube.

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Re: Fuse blew after repair to fan heater
Thanks for helpful advice!!!
Hope you are right and it is unrelated but think that I didn't explain very well as new to this and clearly don't have technical knowhow. The light that was flashing was "scavenging fan not working" to cool engine (which when not flashing is the preheating light). There are 2 batteries one on left and the one on right which we had to disconnect to take out the heater fan. Also not working when fuse blew was cd player, reversing beep (a bit of a relief) and central locking so maybe not leisure battery.
Everything was cleaned up as you describe and brushes etc were OK - heater fan working perfectly. Just not sure if we did something when disconnecting or reconnecting the battery on the right which then caused the fuse to blow.
