REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING

Post by springer » Mon Jul 26, 2010 3:47 pm

Is my BONGO supposed to have Remote Central Locking ?

I picked it up last week, and I got 2 keys and a blipper.

I put a new battery in the blipper, but nowt happens.

The central locking works fine off the keys.

It could be possible that they gave you the wrong blipper for your Bongo. In the first instance I would contact the people you bought the Bongo from and tell them of your problem. I got two keys and a blipper with my Bongo and everything works fine. Having a cat one alarm installed by the supplier has not affected the opperation of the blipper at all.

If we are talking about a diesel Bongo where you have to blip the blipper to warm up the glow plugs before starting the engine, is this fuction working properly for you?

It may just need synching since I replaced the battery, but if so I dont know how to, as I dont have the owners manual yet.

I have just had a look at my blipper, Owners Handbook and the Service Manual. Nothing in the Service Manual and the Owners Handbook only refers to Central Locking with the key. The blipper on the other hand is not a Mazda but part of the Autowatch Cat One Alarm. Sets the alarm as it remotely locks and unlocks the doors and warms up the glow plugs before starting the engine. Any makers name on your blipper, the information that you need may not be supplied by Mazda.

DOH it only has LOCK and UNLOCK written on it.

What a waste of £3.25 that battery was

Don't think anyone has managed to synchronise a factory remote that isn't original, there's nowt in the manual or handbook that'll help on that one either, just as cheap/easy to fit an aftermarket kit anyway - just check you've got an actuator on thr drivers door lock, unless it originaally did have remote central locking it won't have one - there's a factsheet in the members area.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
