Hi All
I've recently aquired my first Bongo (diesel, 1996) and would like a few bits of advice (some of it is probably very basic but I'm new to all this!).
Firstly, does anyone know of somewhere near to Kingston, Surrey that I can take it to for general repairs etc? I need the exhaust looking at and will probably have the timing belt replaced as the previous owner was unsure when this was last done. If I buy bits for the timing belt, what exactly do I need to buy?
Secondly, the air con isn't working in the rear. Previous owner said it has never worked and assumed that it wasn't supposed to. Is this right or should it be working? I have tried the switch near the steering column but this has no effect.
Many thanks in advance.
Jane

Hi, welcome....you can get a belt and bearing from the Bongo shop.....(members area)
Anyone should be able to have a look at the exaust and most garages can handle the new cam belt......what you must NEVER do is let a "bongo inexperienced" garage EVER touch your cooling system....
If the front air con is working then unless the rear has been disconnected it should do somthing......does it BLOW at all ??? does it blow warm/hot ??

For the rear ac to work, the front has to be on as well as pressing the switch. If it still doesn't work try fuse 15 under the bonnet (all fuse details in the factsheet in members area).
Are you saying nothing happens at all, ie no fan hot or cold? or just that the ac doesn't doesn't work ie it doesn't get cold?
Welcome to the forum BTW

Thank you all for your help and advice.
I will have a close look at the air con fuse this weekend - I have to leave the Bongo parked away from where I live as it won't fit in the underground car park!
Missfixit, I visit Portland on a regular basis so may see you around there sometime.
