Drop Link Rubber Bushes Front and rear.

The latest MOT resulted in a pass but I was advised to replace the rubber bushes on the links to the anti roll bars front and rear. Has anyone done this is there an idiots guide?

quite easy to do just remeber to wd40 the nuts and bolts prior to doing the job

2 bolts on rear bushes
2 nuts on front bushes

either 17 or 19 mm

trolley jack to take the weight

? both front and rear bushes and rear drop links are all 14mm, original front anti-roll bar drop links are 17mm nut, and may need a 19mm spanner on the back, replacements are usually the reverse, 19mm nut and 17mm on the back.

Its a speed bump thing - its the only tweek mine has needed for the last two MOTs and I would guess it will be there same time next time (although hopefully someone else will own it then).

Just changed our front ARB bushes and drop links makes a hell of a difference to the ride looking at the old ones they were due for replacing tho

Always best to replace all the parts connected along the Anti Roll Bar ...... otherwise if you just change the bushes or drop links alone......you will be doing the other parts as another job a week or so later.....

I agree with Wishmaster -- if your bongo's suspension bushes and droplinks are genuinely knackered, replacing them makes a huge difference to ride, noise over bumps, and handling. It's not that hard a job either, as long as what's on there isn't too rusty. If so, a can of Plus Gas dismantling spray should help. WD40 isn't as good for getting rusted nuts and bolts off -- I think the effect of WD40 is mostly psychological.
