Turbo Diesel Engine -Automatic (Help please)

Post by La Ron » Mon Sep 27, 2010 1:22 pm

Bought a R reg. Mazda bongo last week from a seemingly "nice and trustworthy" lady. On our journey home it just crept up small hills, however got home with it, phoned the seller and left a message but got no reply, eventually I did speak to her and she denied any knowledge of the problem.
Was put in our local garage to be checked over, and was advised it is definitely an engine problem, but this garage is unable to handle diesel engines. Unable to use the van as the ?prop shaft is also almost broken. I live in South East London and hoping that someone could assist us with the name of a garage which would be suitable.
Thanks

Sorry to hear you have problems. A few garages are mentioned in the London forum, there may be one in your area? SEE THIS LINK
Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth

First thing to check is the fuel filter and banjo filter - those are the very symptoms I experienced and they are easily fixed :D She may not have been aware of any problem, because I drove 15 miles with no problem then, after restarting, it was a total slug - cleaned the banjo filter and it was back to normal 8) If you do a search for banjo, you'll find loads of info on how to do it and it only takes about 5 minutes (a cotton bud makes it easy to get out) :D
