Central Locking (Missing Fob)

Post by windywatson » Mon Oct 25, 2010 6:52 pm

Have started installation of central locking kit. However when I removed drivers door panel found a unit fastened to the door panel that was wired into the existing harness and was obviously factory fitted. The unit has an aerial wire coming out of it and has a brand name of NALDEC on its casing. A few minuets on the Internet confirmed my suspicions. Mazda installed NALDEC wireless remote central locking to many of their vehicles.
This means that my vehicle has central locking factory fitted (may have wasted my money on kit) but the absence of a fob on the key rings that I have means they've been lost or system has failed at some time and been abandoned.
So 2 questions, Does any one know how to locate a replacement fob (one on ebay currently) and if could get one how would I program the system to match new fob? Secondly is there a way I can check the system without the fob to ensure it works in first place as no point in purchasing fob if unit u/s.

Or has anyone else retro fitted new remote locking system but integrated it with the existing door lock solenoid?

Cheers

i tried unsuccessfully   i got several units, including my own fitted one in the door, and 3 extra fobs.
on the mazda forum is a how to sinc your fobs guide, but i could not get it to work, all i ended up with was a fob that was already sinc-ed to my original unit(no spare).

there are 3 button fobs and 2 button fobs so take care.
i to would be interested to learn if anyone has managed it,i think as i remember it involves the door light switch/ignition switch, and lots of turning around, and rubbing your head and patting your stomach or something.
