Coldharbour Mill, near Collumpton, is open and in steam on the Friday and Saturday, could well be worth a visit:

The west somerset railway is right on your doorstep you can walk to crowcombe heathfield thats only a little station but the 2 main ones are at bishops lydeard about a 5 min drive from your camp site and minehead which is 30 mins the other direction.
Pubs in the area are the carew arms at crowcombe, blue ball at triscombe, rising sun at west bagborough (very nice food not cheap though) and the lethbridge arms in bishops lydeard (doing 3 course xmas meals for £25).
