checking the oil level

ok im new to this as ive just bought a 2litre bongo friendee.no probs as yet other than one,i cant seem to find where to check and fill the oil level.i was told it is under the drivers seat,but cant work out how to lift the drivers seat.i cant find any dip stick under the bonnet.so am assuming im going in the right direction.
any help greatly recieved

on the 2.5 ltre diesel bongos the dipstick is under the passenger seat
Lost without my Bongo.

right,but how do i tip the seat up

Remove the plastic tray thing that goes roynd the gear stick
Lift the carpet at the front of the seat....undo 2 clips.....a 3rd clip is by the gear stick....then tilt the seat back
