Hi All
Think I've potentially got a problem with my turbo - put my foot down, plenty of revs, but not getting the extra 'go' that I'm used to.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to have a quick look to see if pipes have come loose etc.
Many thanks
Steve

Re: Turbo problem
Hi Steve, could you be a little more specific as to when the power seems to tail off please? Is it all the time? It sounds on the surface as if the outlet pipe from the turbo has come adrift/split...

Re: Turbo problem
Accelerating gently works fine, its when I try to kick-down that I don't get anything extra. Revs go up but I don't get the power surge. Noticed it today, when I went to overtake a lorry - only tried it once!
I've a feeling you're right about a pipe, just not sure where to look.

Re: Turbo problem
Noramlly i'd nip out and have a look at the most likely candidate on my own bongo, but it's been at the bodyshop for weeks so i can't check for a prime suspect i'm afraid. I'm sure somebody will be along soon with perhaps a photo of the most likely "popped off pipe" The pipes may seem intact but have picked up a split or something, the boost pipe being the most likely candidate (biggest pipe).

Better light revealed nothing, so a trip to the garage it was...
"Checked and cleaned all turbo pipes, tightened all hose clips. Replaced fuel filter, and injector cleaner added".
£73.45 and it is now working again!
