Bongo Fury

I've just had the head gasket skimmed, oil change and new filter and am wondering if this is linked with the fact that the van doesn't start very well now. When I turn the key it chugs away and generally starts after 5 seconds or so, whereas before it was instant. Someone has suggested that it could be a faulty glow plug - does this sound about right and if so, is it an expensive job to get done by a garage?

Could be as simple as a glow plug or the glow plug wiring etc.

If one glow plug is faulty it puts a strain on the others,which struggle to get the engine running,eventually one by one they will fail.
change all the plugs at the same time (make sure you get the correct size, there are two different sizes for the bongo).
not saying this is the problem but a good place to start.

Are the glow plugs easy to access and is this something I could do, bearing in mind that I am pretty useless when it comes to mechanics.

It could be something simple like a wire disconnected as previously stated or a blown fuse.
Checking there is a 12v supply to the plugs when ignition is turned on should point you in the right direction.

Ditto,and get them to check the valve timing.
