Bongo won't start

Post by Jeeves » Fri Feb 11, 2011 12:14 pm

Recently changed glow plugs and fuel filter now the old Bongo won't start, there appears to no power getting to the glow plugs, (have checked with multimeter). Checked the inline fuse adjacent to battery and replaced the glowpug relay, ensured battery is fully charged, still won't start.

Any one got any further ideas before I call out a mobile mechanic,

Sounds like Bertie Wooster has been thrashing it too hard (the Bongo as well).

But seriously, there have been cases of the glowplug rail shorting esp. after plug replacement (is it when a different length plug has been fitted?). I'm not sure, but did I read that this then can blow the fusible link. Have a search on here for previous discussions until/unless someone techie (and with a better memory than me) comes on here with thoughts. Always disconnect battery when working etc. Good luck. 8)
