Brake shield

Post by ejs37 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 7:39 pm

I hope some one can help!
Where can I get a new brake shield from? The are not listed on the bongo shop. The front drivers side has rusted and has needed to be removed, stopped a lot of noise. I now need to replace it.

Brake shields (splash guards) are not required for MOT -- so no need to replace. A potential benefit of having them is that they might protect the caliper from rust -- but I'm not convinced of this. My 40 year-old Volvo 144 doesn't have them, and the calipers have been fine long-term. There's no point in protecting the brake discs, because they don't last long enough to rust badly if the van is driven regularly.
