Oil pressure light

Post by surferdave » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:48 am

The oil pressure light stays on after starting until revved up above 1000. I've changed oil, oil filter and oil pressure switch and no change in behaviour. Worried this is going to be expensive. Have booked into Janner pit stop (Bodmin) next week who know their stuff.

Could be oil pump starting to fail?blockedoil strainerr in the sump? oil pressure relief springs on the oil cooler? you havent damaged the sump? saw a bongo that had been picked up with a forklift and it squashed the sump and falttened the strainer which restricted oil flow and eventually killed the engine

They cleared the oil pickup and strainer and knocked the sump back into shape (it had got squashed a bit somehow) and the bongos back to full working order :D

Not even too expensive!
