Need a Cooling system tester, MW London

Post by thedogsbollox » Fri Jun 10, 2011 11:18 am

Anybody around NW London got a cooling system pressure tester. I am going to replace my stat and bleed but would like to see if there are any further problems before i start driving. If you have one i can borrow it would be much appreciated.

If you cut the valve off a "racing bike" innertube you will find it will "self thread" into the tank overflow spigot......then use a pump with a pressure gauge to pump it up....20 lbs will be plenty as the system needs to be "coolant tight" at around 15lbs......remove the valve when you have done and refit the small black tube..
Works for me.
