whilst giving the old bus a bit of a look over today i noticed a small crusty ( 50p sized) on the bottom face of the n/s sill. while the welding itself holds no fear for me (you get good when you own a suzuki samurai!!) i just wanted to check with the collective braincell that disconnecting the batteries will be sufficient to prevent damage to any electrics/electronics (the most technical thing on the "zuk" is the flasher relay!!)

As long as you disconnect both battery terminals you will be ok, though you will have to remove any items that could be affected by heat transfer or if they are in the way.

the patch is on the bottom of the n/s sill more or less level with the back edge of the front door. i dont think there is too much there to worry about, as far a heat goes. best did the magic wand out now!

famous last words but it does seem to be the only bit to give me any concern. owning a suzuki jeep stands yoo in good stead , i can sniff it out like a pig on a truffle hunt!!! it'll get a thorough clean up , a flush patch repair , 2k red lead , several coats of paint then waxoyl/stonechip. that'll keep it quiet....more famous last words!!
