Fuel Gauge

Looks like it's suddenly been posessed. Drove about ten miles the other day and appeared to lose half a tank. The needle then stuck on the quarter full mark and stayed there for the next 60 miles. Sometimes creeping up...yaay!..then back..boo!!

Set off the next morning and it showed over half full again!

Seems to have settled a bit now, but have no idea how much juice is in there.

It's due a service, but am wondering if it's easy to fix myself with my zero garage skills.

loads of topics on here (have a search)....You will need to add a earth wire either at the sender or Fuel tank to body

Its real easy to do, it was one of the first things i fixed on my van and i'm by no means a mechanic.

Have a search on the forum and you will find loads of info.

Mike.

Cheers. I'll have a look, although I'm not sure I can get in that way as we have a side conversion behind the drivers seat.

If you can't get at the tank because of the side conversion there is another way, by adding and earth strap to the tank from below, this also described in detail by 321Away here.
