Erisin ES718 help please
Help required with the fitting of a Erisin ES718
Having read the various threads about these units, and really fed up with the radio constantly needing re-tuning ( with a frequency extender), I've bitten the bullet and ordered an Erisin ES718, which arrived today. I also had bought a CT20MZ01 ISO loom adaptor as recommended on an earlier thread
2 issues
1. My old radio/cassette/cd player was already 2 DIN, but no mounting cage. It was held in place by spring clips mounted on the sides of the unit. The Erisin unit is a very slack fit, so need to get a holding cage. 2 sizes quoted when I searched Ebay, one is 182 x 103, the other is 182 x 113. Not sure what the dimensions refer to and which size I would need.
2. The ISO adaptor lead fits the Erisin set OK, but the 2 sockets on the other end are nowhere near the Bongo fitting, there is only 1 plug and on the Bongo, & this is described as a 24 pin audio connector on the original radio fitting instructions that came with the Bongo
All advice gratefully received, however simple it might seem to you, as I'm not into electrics at all
Thanks in advance, I'd like to be able to get it up and running by the week-end if possible

Re: Erisin ES718 help please
the loom I got was a standard mazda to iso loom which just plugged in, I think some of it was 2 plugs into 1 but am not sure
I had the cage from the previous radio which was a kenwood md thing and I just took off the brackets and attached them to the new one with the screws, All went smoothly for me
the size, surly by measuring the radio you will get the correct size or by taking the clips off the old one will they not hold the new one?

Re: Erisin ES718 help please
the advert says the unit needs a fitting space of 180 x 100 so my guess is the 182 x 103as mine was a tightish fit
but best measure the gap too to make sure

When you find the correct size cage, you may have to make an infill for the top ,it is about 6 mm x the width of the cage.

Thanks for the replies, it looks as though I need the 182 x 103 cage, but I'll measure to make sure.
Rick, the loom adaptor you have shown is the one I have got. The black end plugs nicely into the Erisin unit, but the 2 white plugs are nothing like the connector ( singular) in the Bongo, I think I'll need to go to Halfrauds and have a look-see at what alternatives are available. I can't seem to find this plug type when I googled. The double DIN radio/cassette/CD unit fitted is the original Bongo one fitted by Mazda, as I got the installation instructions when I bought the Bongo. It is referred to as "Audio connector 24-PIN.
Lets see if I can get this thing working over the week-end
Thanks for the input so far, all other suggesions welcome

Re: Erisin ES718 help please
is it possible you have another connector in the loom as if an adaptor was used and in still there?
my kenwood had plugs into the unit and connectors between the main loom and them

Re: Erisin ES718 help please
Apparently I need this adaptor, as mine is a later Bongo ( September 2000 first registered )

I have now ordered one, and see how it goes from there
I'll update you all when it arrives if it is the correct loom for future reference
