The dreaded tin worm has begun eating away around the windscreen along the sides. There's a gap between the metal and outer seal rubber and there are some holes in the rubber. It seems that water/dirt has collected and allowed it to fester and rust.
It's not too bad at the moment, but will need sorting. I know that a few others have had this issue tackled, but how was the outcome and at what cost?
It strikes me as a potentially expensive problem, but I'm hoping not! How many members has this issue effected?

Re: Windscreen rust
Rust bubbling under windscreen caused mine to crack. Luckily Autoshield man didnt mind and fitted new screen under insurance. I had to grind out rust and weld in couple of fresh bits of steel. Apparently its quite common. Welding was easy enough, but made a mess of dashboard grinding old stuff out.
Re: Windscreen rust
I thought that windscreen replacement cos. wouldn't replace windows with rust.

Re: Windscreen rust
Thanks. I'd seen that thread before I noticed the prob with mine. Mine is nowhere near as bad, but It'd be good to 'nip in the bud'. Out of interest, what was a ball park figure for the work if you don't mind saying? Was the windscreen removed?
Thanks.
