as kirsty says above, make sure you get the correct one especially if doing an exchange, there are a lot of bad ones about.
i had a look under a ranger bonnet the other day and the alternator is the same fitting/mounting/wiring but has a black band painted round it.
the bongo has a green band. according to all the bumf i can find the 2 alternators are 90 amp, but i am concerned that the ranger one is not man enough to do a bongo as it has a lot less lecky stuff on a ranger, maybe its the dual battery workload thats overworking them, but two bongos with single battery systems only,had failures inside 12 months on the black painted replacement ones.
its your money but i would only go for a green banded original/secondhand part, even if its years old.
anyone have any thoughts.
